Prof. Bard was a unanimous choice for this award given his dedication and commitment to teaching in the classroom and laboratories. Over the course of his time with ECE, Bard has taught a very large variety classes and always been popular with student. He has also created new networking teaching labs and obtained the necessary high performance equipment to support them. Additionally, he has encouraged the formation of the IEEE Student Chapter in Communications and fostered the start of the UT Honeynet project. On an ongoing basis, Bill creates opportunities for senior design undergraduate projects, supervises summer undergraduate projects, and is generally to be found, at any time of the day or night, participating in many other research and undergraduate events.
