EURECA Program Gives Undergraduate a Taste of Research

With the continued support of the National Science Foundation (NSF), the 2010 Extensible Undergraduate Research Experience in Communications and Applications (EURECA) will kick off on June 7, 2010. The nine-week program will complete on August 6th. Program Director Professor Sriram Vishwanath welcomes recently-hired Program Coordinator Jose Perez and Program Administrator Julie Levy, also a recent addition to the EURECA team.

During the nine weeks, students will engage in a research project, working under the supervision of a WNCG faculty member. At the end of the program the participants will showcase their work in a poster presentation. EURECA provides participating students a taste of research, gives them the opportunity to interact with faculty and graduate students and generally builds excitement around the research process. Now in its fifth year, EURECA strives to increase graduate school applications, with an emphasis on attracting women and minorities.
