Rappaport Receives IEEE Recognition

Professor Ted Rappaport has been selected as one of two winners of The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 2008 Wireless Communications Recognition Award. Every year, the IEEE Technical Committee on Wireless Communications (WTC) recognizes colleagues with outstanding achievements and contributions in the area of “wireless and mobile communications theory, systems and networks” through this award. Rappaport was recognized “For his outstanding technical contributions in the field and for his service to the scientific and engineering communities.” It was presented to him on December 3 at Globecom 2008 in New Orleans at the Hilton New Orleans. 150 people were in attendance for his award luncheon.
