Mr. David Deas

David Deas, Vice President Networks & Services, is responsible for the technical management and leadership at SBC Laboratories and has served in this capacity since July 2000. Mr. Deas is responsible for an engineering team developing leading edge internet, speech and video services. In addition his department is in charge of standards management, investigating advanced wireless technologies, and performing human factors studies.

Mr. Deas was Executive Director-Wireless Systems with SBC Labs from 1996 to 2000 where he was responsible for engineering and planning support for SBC's wireless business units. Prior to that, he served in SBC's strategic planning organization and has had a number of planning and management roles at SBC Labs. Mr. Deas began his career with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in 1975 as an engineer, where he held various positions within the network organization.

Mr. Deas received a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas - Arlington and a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management from Southern Methodist University. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the state Texas and a Member of IEEE.
