David Perkins is senior vice president and general manager of the Freescale Semiconductor Networking & Computing Systems Group (NCSG). He is responsible for driving new solutions that facilitate the transmission, switching and processing of data, video and voice signals within communications systems. NCSG - the global market share leader for communications processors and radio frequency (RF) power products for the cellular base station market - designs, manufactures and markets embedded processors and related connectivity products for the wired and wireless networking and communications markets.

Prior to his current position, David was president and CEO of Metrowerks, a software and tools developer in the computing, gaming and communications industry. David was instrumental in developing Metrowerks' strong partnership with Motorola, paving the way for the subsequent acquisition by Motorola in September 1999.

Before joining Metrowerks, David was a partner at Coopers & Lybrand, where he was involved in finance, sales, business development, and mergers and acquisitions. He holds a bachelor's degree in commerce and a master's degree in finance, both from McGill University in Montreal.
