About Austin

What makes Austin one of the best places in the country to live or visit? It’s a city like no other! The state capital boasts beautiful lakes, live music, glorious hill country and a laid-back yet sophisticated style. Frequently billed as the “live music capital of the world,” Austin at night offers hundreds of music venues around the city. Diversity defines Austin...and the economy thrives on a balance of technology industries, business services, education and government. Software development, electronics design and computer hardware manufacturing established Austin as a technology center, but life sciences, film and music, and distribution firms are industries with strong presence in the Austin economy. Austin’s Wireless Networking and Communications Group (WNCG) stands at the epicenter of wireless technology growth in Texas.
