Mandar N. Kulkarni received his B.Tech degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati in 2013. He was awarded the President of India Gold Medal during 15th convocation of IIT Guwahati, for best academic performance amongst all eligible B.Tech/B.Des students of 2009-13 batch of the institute. He is being supervised by Prof. Jeffrey Andrews for his graduate studies (MS followed by PhD) in Electrical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. His broad research interest lies in wireless communications and currently he is working on investigating the possibility of using millimeter wave frequency bands in next generation cellular networks. He has held internship position at Nokia Networks, Arlington Heights, IL, where he worked on system performance analysis of moderate and high bandwidth 5G networks. He has also help internship positions at TU Berlin and IISc Bangalore.
