Poisson Building 3D Spatial Model for Indoor Wireless Networks
18 Apr 2016
WNCG Prof. François Baccelli and students Junse Lee and Xinchen Zhang presented a new 3D spatial model for indoor wireless networks at INFOCOM 2016 in San Francisco.
This model, which the authors propose to call the Poisson building, allows one to analyze the correlated shadowing field created by a wireless infrastructure through the set of walls and floors of a building with variable size rooms. It provides an exact mathematical characterization of the interference distribution in such buildings, which further leads to closed-form expressions for the coverage probabilities in indoor cellular networks.
