WNCG Student Ahmed Kord recently received an IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society Doctoral Research Grant for his work entitled “New Frontiers in Electromagnetic Metamaterials Using Active Circuits.”

The award, worth $2,500 is designed to help fund and continue Kord’s education in the field of electromagnetics. Each year, the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society awards up to six, $1,000 pre-doctoral scholarships and about ten $2,500 PhD fellowships to encourage students to pursue a career in electromagnetics. The awards support students involved in research directed by a faculty member who is a member of the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society.

At WNCG, Kord is advised by Prof. Andrea Alù.
