WNCG had two successful promotions during the Fall 2012 semester. Professors Andrea Alu and Haris Vikalo were both promoted from Assistant Professors to Associate Professors with tenure. Al came to UTs Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2009, and joined WNCG in 2012. He is also affiliated with the Applied Research Laboratories at the University of Texas at Austin, where he is involved in research projects on electromagnetics and acoustics. Vikalo joined UTs Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2007, and joined WNCG in 2009. His main research focus is on signal processing and computational aspects of biosensors and biological networks, communications, and algorithm complexity.
