Jeff Andrews Receives 2021 Qualcomm Faculty Award

WNCG's Prof. Jeff Andrews has been named as a recipient of a 2021 Qualcomm Faculty Award. The Qualcomm Faculty Award (QFA) "supports key professors and their research through a $75,000 charitable donation to their university. The goal of the QFA funding is to strengthen Qualcomm’s engagement with faculty who are playing a key role in our recruiting of top graduate students."

Texas Wireless Summit Postponed

WNCG's annual signature event, typically held in the fall, has been postponed to spring 2021. Texas Wireless Summit brings together leaders from industry and academia in an annual forum on emerging technology. First conceived in 2003 as the "Wireless Networking Symposium," the event has continued to grow and evolve over the years. Each year’s theme explores possible waves of transformative technologies and the research that will make them a reality.

Texas Wireless Summit 2019 Will Explore the Human-Machine Frontier

TWS 2019 co-organizers Edison Thomaz and Nanshu Lu have announced the theme of this year’s Summit: Connectivity and Sensing at the Human-Machine Frontier. The event will highlight advances and opportunities at the intersection of human-centered computing, sensing and connectivity. Sessions and panels will focus on wearables, virtual and mixed reality, bio-interfaces, and perception. We will explore the challenges and demands of the communication infrastructure required to support and enhance devices and experiences. WNCG will host the event on November 12, 2019.

WNCG will host the 17th Texas Wireless Summit (TWS) on November 12, 2019.  Planning for TWS has just begun, but you can expect an exciting list of high-profile industry and academia speakers, as in previous Summits. Past events have typically been attended by more than 350 leading members of industry and academia each year.

Recap: WNCG Hosts 16th Annual Texas Wireless Summit

The Engineering Education and Research Center at The University of Texas was abuzz with over 200 participants gathered for Texas Wireless Summit (TWS) on November 6. This year’s theme was “AI and the Mobile Device.”Held annually by WNCG, TWS brings together leading figures in industry, academia, and government to discuss the latest developments in information systems technology. “AI and the Mobile Device” marked the 16th summit hosted by the group.“Every year we try to think about a theme that captures what’s most exciting in technology,” Prof.

Registration is now open for WNCG’s 2018 Texas Wireless Summit! TWS will take place on November 6, 2018 at The University of Texas at Austin.  This year's event, “AI and the Mobile Device,” will focus on how machine learning, artificial intelligence, and some key applications will interact with wireless technology. The Summit will examine how Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) will simultaneously enhance connectivity as well as place demands on both devices and connectivity.

WNCG Hosts 15th Annual Texas Wireless Summit

On November 6 and 7, WNCG hosted the Texas Wireless Summit (TWS). TWS is the group’s annual conference. TWS brings together leading figures in industry, academia, and government to discuss the latest developments in information systems technology. The theme for this year, “What Started Here Has Changed the Wireless World,” was a celebration of the 15 years since the creation of WNCG, founded by Professor Ted Rappaport.
