Andrea Alù, Jeffrey G. Andrews, Alan Bovik, Robert Heath, and Nanshu Lu have been named Highly Cited Researchers for 2020. The annual list from Clarivate recognizes influential researchers from around the world.

Three Texas ECE Faculty Named Highly Cited Researchers

Jeff Andrews, Alan Bovik, and Robert Heath, professors at Texas ECE, have been recognized as Highly Cited Researchers for 2019. The Highly Cited Researchers from the Institute for Scientific Information is a list released annually to identify global research scientists and social scientists who have demonstrated exceptional influence – reflected through their publication of multiple papers frequently cited by their peers during the last decade.

Four Texas ECE Faculty Named 2015 Highly Cited Researchers

Four Texas ECE faculty were recognized in Thomson Reuters’ list of Highly Cited Researchers in 2015 for exceptional impact in their fields. They are Prof. Jeffrey Andrews, Prof. Al Bovik, Prof. Robert Heath, and Prof. Sriram Vishwanath. This is the second consecutive year on the list for all four researchers.

Senior Design Project Open House Brings Together UT Research Community

Each year, the UT Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) hosts a series of Senior Design Projects, which the undergraduate student teams present at the end of each semester during the Senior Design Open House. The day-long Open House event provides a unique opportunity for students to showcase and demonstrate their work. While WNCG consists mostly of graduate students, a select few undergraduates also engage in research projects and startups with WNCG faculty and students.

An incubator of cutting-edge technologies and digital creativity, SXSW Interactive 2015 featured five days of presentations and panels from the brightest minds in emerging technology. Special programs showcased new websites, video games and startup ideas from the community.

WNCG Faculty and students met on Sunday with researchers from the Center for Transportation Research (CTR) and other UT Austin Cockrell School Engineers during the first-ever UT Village at SXSW Interactive 2015. This year's event featured panels and interactive research demonstrations and was open to all SXSW Interactive 2015 Badge Holders.
