Prof. Al Bovik of Texas ECE has been named the 2019 recipient of the IEEE Fourier Award for Signal Processing. The IEEE Fourier Award for Signal Processing was established in 2012 and is awarded to an individual or team based on "impact on the field of signal processing technology, including innovation; leadership; honors or seminal contributions as evidenced by publications or patents or transition to practice; and quality of nomination." WNCG Postdoctoral Associate Juan Sebastian Gomez-Diaz received the Junior Raj Mittra Travel Grant (RMTG) award to attend the 2015 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation and North American Radio Science Meeting, which will take place in Vancouver, Canada this July.
