Sandy Saab Launches Student Organization for ECE Graduate Students

Only 13 percent of engineers in the workforce are women, according to the Society of Women Engineers (SWE). The same analysis shows that over 32 percent of women switch out of STEM degree programs in college. Encouragement and support for women in STEM fields has grown in the past few years; however, there’s still work to be done to continue building an environment where female engineers can flourish. Texas ECE and WNCG student Sandy Saab is doing her best to be a part of that effort.

Prof. Jeff Andrews Discusses 5G on Science Vs

WNCG professor Jeff Andrews appeared as a guest expert on a recent episode of Gimlet Media's Science Vs podcast, "5G: Welcome to the Revolution?" where he provided background on the next generation of wireless technology. The episode noted the general public's increased interest in 5G and explored the basics of the technology, addressing the controversies and myths building around the topic. Postdoc Joe Neeman Joins UT Austin Faculty

WNCG Postdoctoral Researcher, Joe Neeman, recently accepted a position as Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to holding a joint postdoctoral position in UT Austin’s Departments of Mathematics and Electrical and Computer Engineering, Dr. Neeman completed his bachelor’s degree at the Australian National University and his PhD at UC Berkeley’s Department of Statistics. At UT, Neeman’s research will focus on problems in probability.
