The Wireless Networking and Communications Group (WNCG) is an interdisciplinary center for research and education at The University of Texas at Austin with an emphasis on industrial relevance.
Founded in 2002, the group includes 25 faculty from the Departments of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, and Computer Science. WNCG currently has over 130 graduate and undergraduate students as well as an ever-changing number of research scientists, postdoctoral fellows and industry visitors.
The mission of the WNCG is to create a collaborative environment that supports research, provides highly relevant education and opportunities, promotes technical innovation, imagination and entrepreneurship in wireless networking, communications and data sciences.
WNCG has an exceptional track record of fostering collaborations with industry leaders through the Industrial Affiliates Program. Our Industrial Affiliates include AT&T, Crown Castle, Ericsson, Honda R&D Americas, Intel, InterDigital, Keysight, Nokia, NVIDIA, Qualcomm, Samsung, Tektronix, VIAVI Solutions, and Western Digital. To our students and new faculty, welcome to WNCG! We are thrilled that you've joined us in our pursuit of knowledge discovery and innovation. You'll find among our 24 faculty and 160+ graduate students many eager collaborators and a deep repository of experience, intuition, and wisdom that encompasses not only research but scholarship and the academic life in general.
To our dear affiliates, thank you for your participation in and support of our center! Interaction with you keeps our innovative efforts fresh and relevant, and ensures a pathway for their application and further development.
