Professor Jeff Andrews received the 2024 Communication Theory Technical Committee (CTTC) Service Award at the 2025 IEEE Communication Theory Workshop (CTW) held in Venice, Italy. The award recognizes his leadership and sustained service to the CTTC, the Communication Theory Workshop, and IEEE journals and conferences relevant to CTTC members.  In particular, Dr. Andrews created the IEEE Communication Theory Workshop Steering Committee and Bylaws in 2011, and was the Chair of this committee for seven years, preserving and advancing this important 50 year old conference’s legacy as a top venue for the exchange of the newest and most interesting ideas in communications.  He also was Chair of the CTTC from 2021-2022, as well as organizing past editions of the CTW.

Presented by the IEEE Communications Society’s CTTC, the award honors individuals with a distinguished record of service to the CTTC community. This includes organizing symposia and workshops, holding leadership roles within the CTTC, and promoting CTTC activities and interests within the broader research community.

Andrews holds the Truchard Family Chair in Engineering in the Chandra Family Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin and is the Director of 6G@UT
