The grade of Fellow is conferred by the IEEE Directors upon a person with an outstanding record of accomplishments in an IEEE field of interest. The WNCG celebrates the addition to this prestigious group of Professors Andrea Aluù and Sanjay Shakkottai.
Professor Alù was elected for contributions to the theory and applications of electromagnetic metamaterials and plasmonic phenomena. Professor Sanjay Shakkottai was elected for contributions to the modeling, design and analysis of wireless networks.
IEEE Fellow is the highest grade of membership and is recognized by the technical community as a prestigious honor and an important career achievement.
