Prof. Jeff Andrews and Prof. Robert Heath Receive 2019 IEEE Kiyo Tomiyasu Award

Prof. Jeff Andrews and Prof. Robert Heath of Texas ECE have been named co-recipients of the 2019 IEEE Kiyo Tomiyasu Award for their contributions to wireless communication systems. The IEEE Kiyo Tomiyasu Award is an IEEE Technical Field Award, meaning it spans all subfields of electrical engineering. It was established in 2001 to recognize "outstanding contributions to technologies holding the promise of innovative applications." The award is sponsored by Dr. Kiyo Tomiyasu, the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society, and the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society.

TWS Announces Speakers, Special Events for 2016 Summit

Texas Wireless Summit (TWS) 2016: Reshaping Wireless Through Automated Vehicles, recently announced their speaker line-up and other exciting special reveals for this year’s event. On October 18, 2016, TWS will explore how automated vehicles will reshape wireless over the next 10 years with their demands for coordinated sensing and decision-making. The event will look at the benefits and requirements of connectivity, the key challenges of vehicle sensing and shared data analytics, including lightly processed radar, lidar and camera data.
