WNCG affiliate company Viavi Solutions today announced its new 6G Forward program, designed to "provide vital expertise, technology, and funding to promising avenues of research, which may lead to breakthroughs for the next generation of wireless technology." VIAVI joined WNCG's Industrial Affiliate Program this summer, supporting the newly-launched 6G@UT center.

Earlier this year, WNCG launched 6G@UT—a new research center imagining the future of wireless connectivity at the intersection of immersive sensing and machine learning. Planning has begun for an official kick-off event in 2022. The program will include the inaugural public 6G@UT Summit, which will host a variety of talks and panels featuring leaders in industry and academe.
