WNCG Student Startup Top Finalist in TWS Autotech Showcase

Radiosense, an Austin-based startup that provides precise positioning for automated vehicles, recently placed in the top three at Texas Wireless Summit (TWS) 2016’s Autotech Startup Showcase. Radiosense was founded by WNCG student and CEO Andrew Kerns, fellow student Daniel Shepard and alum Ken Pesyna. Produced as a partnership between TWS and the Austin Technology Incubator (ATI) and sponsored by Rohde and Schwarz, the TWS showcase identified promising autotech startups from across the country and created a distinct platform for exposure and industry engagement.

TWS 2016 Announces AT&T and Ericsson World Debut of 5G Tech

Texas Wireless Summit 2016 is thrilled to announce that this year's event will feature the first-ever public demonstration of AT&T and Ericsson's 5G millimeter wave technology. Millimeter wave is an essential and fundamental component for 5G mobile networks and AT&T's plans. This 5G demo will showcase the possibility and feasibility of millimeter wave radio access technology for the cellular networks of the future.

Texas Wireless Summit (TWS) 2016: Reshaping Wireless Through Automated Vehicles, recently announced their speaker line-up and other exciting special reveals for this year’s event. On October 18, 2016, TWS will explore how automated vehicles will reshape wireless over the next 10 years with their demands for coordinated sensing and decision-making. This world of imagination and precise positioning is now becoming a reality, and through the efforts of WNCG students, even finding its way to market.

New Centimeter-Accurate GPS System Could Transform Virtual Reality and Mobile Devices

Img: Two of the Cockrell School graduate students behind Radiosense, Ken Pesyna and Andrew Kerns. Cockrell School of Engineering, UT Austin Researchers in the Cockrell School of Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin have developed a centimeter-accurate GPS-based positioning system that could revolutionize geolocation on virtual reality headsets, cellphones and other technologies, making global positioning and orientation far more precise than what is currently available on a mobile device.
