Prof. Jon Tamir and Atlas Wang have received Google Research Scholar Awards for 2023. The Research Scholar Program aims to support early-career professors who are pursuing research in fields relevant to Google. Prof. Jeff Andrews of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin wrote a piece for the IEEE Communications Society on whether or not densification will be the death of 5G. Prof. Andrews is the The Cullen Trust for Higher Education Endowed Professor in Engineering and a member of the Wireless Networking and Communications Group (WNCG). Over the last decade he has been one of the leaders in the effort to apply statistical theory to network capacity calculation.
