Atlas Wang Receives INNS 2021 Aharon Katzir Young Investigator Award

WNCG professor Atlas Wang has received the 2021 International Neural Network Society (INNS) Aharon Katzir Young Investigator Award. The Aharon Katzir Young Investigator Award is conferred on up to two exceptionally promising young investigators in the field of neural networks.

Although advanced neural networks continue to dramatically improve the capabilities of artificial intelligence systems, they are associated with substantial energy use. In an effort to address this problem a growing number of organisations are focused on the creation of technologies designed to reduce energy use in the training and operation of such systems.

Open House Connects Affiliates with Student Recruitment

WNCG's annual Open House connects board members and Industrial Affiliates with world-class students for recruitment and research. Through close access to WNCG student research and resumes, Open House gives our industry partners a unique opportunity to interact one-on-one with with bright young minds. This year's open house featured roughly 40 student poster presentations and a WNCG faculty panel on edge computing and wireless infrastructure. Faculty panelists included WNCG Profs. Todd Humphreys, Robert Heath, Gustavo de Veciana, Edison Thomaz and Andrea Thomaz.
