Yifan Jiang Receives 2023 Apple Scholars in AI/ML PhD Fellowship

Yifan Jiang, a PhD student in the Chandra Family Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin, has been named a recipient of a 2023 Apple Scholars in AI/ML PhD fellowship. The Apple Scholars in AI/ML PhD fellowship recognizes the contributions of researchers in computer science and engineering at the graduate and postgraduate level. Apple Scholars in AI/ML are selected based on their innovative research, record as thought leaders and collaborators, and commitment to advancing their respective fields.

New Student Apps Encourage Users to Go Nuts over Healthcare

There is a new app on the market that encourages users to go nuts over healthcare, complete with a squirrely mascot. Created by the founders of Accordion Health and dubbed the “health nuts,” the two new apps, Pistachio and Chestnut, bring medical care back under the control, and into the palms of, users and patients.

WNCG Faculty and students met on Sunday with researchers from the Center for Transportation Research (CTR) and other UT Austin Cockrell School Engineers during the first-ever UT Village at SXSW Interactive 2015. This year's event featured panels and interactive research demonstrations and was open to all SXSW Interactive 2015 Badge Holders. Prof. Sriram Vishwanath Selected for Samsung GRO Program

Prof. Sriram Vishwanath’s proposal on Designing Sparse Regression Codes and Non-Binary Spatially Coupled Codes for Enabling High Gain Low Latency 100G Wireless Communication was selected for the 2015 Samsung Global Research Outreach (GRO) Program.
